Northern Chartered Accountant Students' Society

Supporting northern ACA students

About NCASS

NCASS (Northern Chartered Accountant Students’ Society) is the official body that represents ACA students under ICAEW training contracts in the Northern Society area in the North East of England and Cumbria. We have been supporting student chartered accountants across northern England since 1896.

Today NCASS provides support and organises events across the North East and Teesside.  In Cumbria we are called CCASS (Cumberland Chartered Accountant Students’ Society).  We have a committee to represent ACA students training on either side of the Pennines – see our committee members page.

We aim to provide the following support for our members:

  • A point of contact for queries in connection with student registration and exam entries;
  • Support for student training and exams;
  • A forum for informal networking with students from other firms and those from other professions;
  • Sports and social events;
  • A committee to represent the views of our students to the ICAEW through the ICAEW Student Council (ISC); and
  • Working with NorSCA to ensure the needs and priorities of ACA students are reflected in their strategy;
  • Working with NEYCAG (North East Young Chartered Accountants’ Group) to ensure that recently qualified members have the best opportunities to further their career through networking and relevant courses; and
  • An opportunity for committee members to develop skills other than those they use in their day to day work.
