Amanda graduated from Durham University with a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance in 2010. She then joined KPMG’s graduate programme working within the audit department, qualifying in 2013. In 2015, Amanda moved into industry, and is now Financial Controller at Faithful+Gould. Amanda joined NEYCAG in 2014 and took over as chair in 2015.


Dawn-O'NeillName: Dawn O’Neill ACA

Dawn graduated with a BsC (Hons) degree in Mathematics and Psychology from Durham University in 2011. She then went on join EY in Newcastle, working in the audit and assurance service line. Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2014, Dawn continues to enjoy her role at EY, working with a variety of clients across different sectors.

Sophie graduated from Durham University in 2009 with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics. She joined the PwC graduate scheme in 2010 as part of the Core Assurance department in Newcastle. Since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2013. Sophie has continued her role with PwC, working with a range of different companies in the region.

Blu Sky, Chartered Accountants

Sam Graduated From Newcastle University with a Bsc in Natural Sciences in 2010, before taking a well deserved Gap Year! He then joined KPMG’s graduate programme working within the audit department and qualifying in 2014. In 2015, Sam moved into industry with the Nissan group but quickly realised his passion was to work in practice and took a position with Blu Sky, Chartered Accountants.

Sam now leads Blu Sky’s Technology and Efficiency process and has been instrumental in the growth of the firm both regionally and nationally with several key deals with the UK’s top cloud accounting and crowdfunding firms as well as top UK start-up accelerators being signed since Sam joined the team.

In 2016, Blu Sky won Small Firm of the Year at the North East Accountancy Awards in recognition of these deals and the work done by the team across Tax, Accounts and Assurance.

Craig trained as an Accounting Technician with the NECC in Middlesbrough, becoming AAT Qualified in 2009 whilst working in audit and accounts at Clive Owen & Co LLP in Darlington. He then went on to qualify as a chartered accountant in 2012, later making the move into industry.  Craig works for Aspire Technology Solutions Limited in Gateshead as Head of Finance.

Andrew studied at Northumbria University for a BA (Hons) in Accountancy, graduating in 2005, before returning to his native Cumbria to begin a training contract a local firm. On qualification Andrew moved back to the North East to begin a role with Ryecroft Glenton, working in audit and accounts with a ever increasing role within the firms VAT department.

Paula graduated in 2003 from Newcastle University with BA (Hons) in French and German then joined Deloitte, Newcastle to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in 2006, based within Audit. Since qualification Paula has held various industry positions and has recently moved to the role of Financial Controller with Optimal Medicine Ltd.

Paula has been a previous Chairman of NEYCAG and she also served as Chairman of the Tyne & Wear Society of Chartered Accountants in 2012.

Paula is NEYCAG President and aims to provide support to the NEYCAG committee and also act as one of the links between NEYCAG and the Northern Society of Chartered Accountants (NorSCA).
