NEYCAG’s co-chair wins top North East accountancy award 15 July 2014

Northern Society of Chartered Accountants - New Accountant of the YearNEYCAG’s co-chair and Aspire’s Head of Finance, Craig Hart, won the New Accountant of the Year Award at the North East Accountancy Awards 2014.

Craig, who joined Aspire in August 2012 after qualifying as a ICAEW chartered accountant, said: “I’m really proud to have won this award, not just for myself but for the Aspire team. And I’m thrilled to have won in the New Accountant category as it shows how far I’ve come since joining the company.

“I love working at Aspire as I have such a varied role where I can get involved with all aspects of the business. As well as overseeing the accounts, I also look for new business opportunities and help Aspire plan for the future.”

The North East Accountancy Awards were held at the Hilton NewcastleGateshead and were hosted by BBC Breakfast News presenter Colin Briggs. TV personality, explorer and marine biologist Monty Halls delivered the after dinner keynote speech.

The awards recognise excellence within the fields of finance, accounting and tax from all industry sectors operating within the North East.

NEYCAG (North East Young Accountancy Group) is part of the Northern Society of Chartered Accountants (NorSCA) which represents ICAEW members working in business and the finance profession across the North East of England, Teesside and Cumbria. We have been assisting businesses in the north of England and producing chartered accountants for over 130 years.
