This course aims to update delegates on recent developments affecting annual accounts for small entities, highlights key points arising in relation to common accounting issues and considers day to day challenges and practical solutions in dealing with accounts preparation assignments.

Content to include:

  • Developments in legislation affecting small company accounts, including the micros regime, the revised regime for small companies and current status of audit exemption thresholds
  • Developments in the accounting regime for small entities, including FRS 105,  FRS 102 Section 1A and related issues
  • Common problems in company accounts preparation and disclosure
  • Practical issues in providing an accounts preparation service, including quality control, accountants’ reports
  • Topical and common accounting issues for other small entities
  • Other regulatory issues relevant to accountants in practice dealing with small enterties

Stephanie Henshaw FCA – Technical Standards Partner, Francis Clark LLP and a member of the ICAEW Financial Reporting Faculty Board

Stephanie is a corporate audit partner at Francis Clark, delivering audit, assurance and advisory services to a wide range of clients, from manufacturing and service companies to not-for-profit entities. She has a particular interest in effective narrative reporting and corporate governance..

Stephanie has overall responsibility for professional standards, including acting as the firm’s head of audit, assurance and financial reporting. She acts as a second partner for many of the firm’s most prestigious clients, including the firm’s largest groups and listed companies.

Stephanie was one of the founder members of the ICAEW Financial Reporting Faculty which was established to provide practical support for preparers of financial statements and she currently chairs the Faculty Board. This gives her input into the development of financial reporting standards and an insight into the practical problems of implementation, both for UK GAAP and IFRS.

Stephanie is also an experienced and highly regarded presenter and has presented or participated as a panel member at a wide range of ICAEW financial reporting events.
