Munro Walk – Schiehallion

Date: 25 June 2016 10:00 for 10:30 to 17:00

Type: Social and Networking

Organiser: Other

Join IMS members, friends and family for our eighth guided Munro walk. Schiehallion is a prominent mountain overlooking Loch Rannoch, and at a height of 3555 feet provides superb views. Its conical shape has rendered it suitable for scientific experiments.

The walk will start at 10.30 am at the Braes of Foss car park which is not far from Loch Rannoch, and about 8 miles from Aberfeldy.

The walk is on a good track and involves walking about six/seven miles. It is suitable for anyone with experience of walking on hills or moors. Boots should be worn, and walkers should bring with them warm and waterproof clothing, including gloves.

In order that we have some idea of numbers it would be helpful if you could let us know if you are planning to take part in the walk. All members as well as friends and relatives are welcome to participate (four legged companions are also welcome). Or you could just turn up on the day if you wish.

For information regarding the walk please contact Arthur Custance, +44 (0)1855 831590, +44 (0)7836 219528, [email protected]

We also intend, for those walkers who are interested, to have a meal together after the walk in a local hotel. If you would like to participate in this please indicate when you are booking.

Dinner Arrangements / accommodation

For those staying for dinner in the evening the meal will be at the Kenmore Hotel in Kenmore village at 7.30 pm.

Overnight accommodation can be obtained at the hotel, or at various other establishments in the village. Those requiring accommodation should arrange this direct with the hotel. (Telephone 01887 830205)
