Join NEYCAG for a breakfast briefing where Rebecca Benneyworth will give NEYCAG members an insight into the taxation of rental income.

This free event is open to recently qualified/younger NEYCAG members (up to the age of 35). Please pre-book to secure your places(s).

This session will look at some of the practical issues with the taxation of property income. It will include:

  • Property income – the various types: unfurnished letting; furnished letting; holiday lets; overseas property
  • Deductions permitted from rental income – general rule and some examples
  • Interest – when it is allowed, and what for
  • Repairs – when they can be a problem
  • Declaring information on the tax return – jointly owned property

Complimentary breakfast refreshments will be available on arrival.

Rebecca Benneyworth BSc FCA

Rebecca is a lecturer and writer on a variety of tax matters. She also has her own practice in Gloucestershire, and was named tax lecturer of the year at the Lexis Nexis Taxation awards in May 2007. She is also Chairman of the ICAEW Tax Faculty, and a member of the Government’s Admin Burdens Advisory Board
