About Northern Society Courses

Northern Society of Chartered Accountants aims to support our ICAEW members and ACA students across the north east and Cumbria through the provision of opportunities for networking, social, courses & confidence and access.

This section of our website provides some more information about our courses.

We have a long tradition of running high quality practical courses that are beneficial for both members in practice and in business.  Details of our upcoming courses are listed alongside other events and activities in the events centre.

We arrange half day and full day courses on a number of popular subjects. Our courses are open to everyone and you do not have to be an ICAEW Chartered Accountant to attend. In addition we also arrange:

  • Redworth – the Tyne & Wear General Practitioners’ Conference, which takes place each spring at Redworth Hall Hotel near Darlington; and
  • The ICAEW Practical Tax Conference which is run jointly by ICAEW Members in Scotland and Northern Society of Chartered Accountants in conjunction with the ICAEW Tax Faculty. This takes place every autumn and is normally held in a hotel with conference facilities in a convenient location near the Scottish Borders. The conference brings together practitioners with a wide range of tax experience.

Redworth 2023

We look forward to our popular Redworth 2023 general practitioner weekend course being back for 2023. Look out for details going forward.

Courses Chairman

Our Tyne and Wear Courses Chairman is Pam Clarke and our Deputy Courses Chairman is Sam Hill.  Should you have any suggestions for future courses that could be provided across Northern Society then please contact Pam Clarke via our Contact page
