NCASS were delighted to welcome over 60 recent recruits to an informal drinks event on Friday 2 October.
The attendees mirrored the diverse ICAEW Chartered Accountancy intakes in the region with guests from the more traditional ICAEW ACA graduate route, alongside students from Newcastle University’s Flying Start and Graduate Diploma programmes, who will be studying for ACA and CFAB as part of their university programmes. The event allowed informal networking and offered the chance to meet peers over a drink in Northern Stage.
Gina, has recently started Newcastle University’s Graduate Diploma in Finance, Accounting and Business, a complete career change for her having previously completed a research degree in Health and Aging! “I really did enjoy the event. It gave me a chance to get to know other students. I loved meeting some of the people from other companies and ICAEW. The event was less formal and took the pressure off students and professionals alike. I look forward to more events like the one on Friday!”
Chris Soan, NCASS President commented: “In my capacity as the President of NCASS, it was heartening to see such an excellent turnout from new ICAEW students. NCASS presents an excellent opportunity for ICAEW students to network with others from different organisations within the Northern Region but it can only be successful if people engage with our events and, maybe even, want to join the Committee. I look forward to seeing continued support for our upcoming events.”
NCASS would like to thank PwC and Kaplan Financial for supporting the event.
