Recent high-profile data breaches have highlighted the cyber risks faced by all businesses. They have also underlined the potentially serious impact of major breaches on consumers, such as theft and fraud.
This panel event will discuss current issues in cyber security and provide practical advice for businesses in keeping one step ahead of cyber attackers.
The importance of cyber security continues to grow as businesses increasingly transform their operations and engage with customers and suppliers on the basis of digital technology. But many businesses still struggle to implement basic security measures and manage the risks associated with systems and data.
This panel event will bring together industry specialists with representatives from research and the police to share their insights into how businesses should respond to the challenges presented by cyber security.
Chi Onwurah, MP for Newcastle upon Tyne Central and Shadow Minister for Digital Industries, will introduce the event. The discussion will mark the launch of ICAEW’s new report Audit Insights: Cyber Security – Closing the Cyber Gap.
