Northern Society of Chartered Accountants

At the heart of northern business since 1882

Being the informed trustee or not for profit committee member

Date: 15 November 2017 13:30 to 16:30

Type: Career and Personal Development, Course

Organiser: Tyne and Wear

The course is essential to those who are, or would like to be, a trustee or member of a not-for-profit (NFP) committee, who require a general knowledge and understanding of their shared responsibilities.

The course is open to members, non-members and their clients.

This course’s objectives are to:

  • explain the wider benefits and advantages of being a trustee or committee member;
  • provide an overview of member roles and responsibilities in such organisations;
  • explain the application of rules and definitions within a charitable trust and how these play-out in a less structured body;
  • empower delegates to understand other trustees and committee members’ responsibilities; and to
  • enable delegates to interpret the numbers and contribute to the annual report as part of their joint stewardship.
