A private viewing has been arranged for our members, meaning an exclusive evening at the Observatory. We will be met by one of the resident astronomers who will show us around the whole facility, gently lit with red lights so you can keep your adapted night vision. Our astronomer will explain how the telescopes work and what to do showing you everything from the planets of our Solar System, all the way out to galaxies millions of light years away.
Being based in the UK means the observatory are quite used to the weather being unsettled and have lots of practice at hosting events where the weather is not favourable for observing. Indeed some of the best reviews on “trip advisor” website have come from guests who have attended on such a night.
