Join us for afternoon tea and teatime talk on the Theatre Royal, Newcastle upon Tyne.
On 24 November 1899 the Theatre Royal burned down following a performance of Macbeth.
119 year later, almost to the day and not long after another performance of Macbeth, Philip Bernays, Chief Executive of the Theatre Royal, will give an illustrated talk on the fire, its aftermath, and why Macbeth is always referred to as “the Scottish play”!
