Join us at Durham Old Town Hall for a tour and opportunity to find out the history of the City Sword and Mace.
We will meet in The Guild Hall, which was last renovated in 1982-3 when additional security devices were installed. It dates back to 1356 in the reign of Edward III and was rebuilt and given to the city by Bishop Tunstal in 1535. After our private tour of the Town Hall lunch will be taken in the Senate Room at Durham Castle.

1100 Tour of Town Hall and Talk by David Butler – Durham City Sword and Mace
1200 Leave for Durham Castle via Durham Victorian Market – a brief history of the market will be given by Colin Wilks & Alan Ribchester
