Welcome to a new website for NorSCA, NCASS and NEYCAG 1 March 2014

Northern Society of Chartered Accountants (NorSCA) is pleased to launch its new website norsca.co.uk. The new website brings together in one place news, events and information for ICAEW Chartered Accountants and ACA students across the whole of NorSCA’s area of the north east & Cumbria.

NorSCA’s strategy, launched at our AGM in May 2013, was based around the four areas of networking, social, courses & confidence and access. Our new website is a key development in both:

• enhancing access to information for our ICAEW Chartered Accountant members and ACA students; and
• allowing us to communicate how ICAEW Chartered Accountants support business and their communities across the north east and Cumbria.

As one of the most active ICAEW district societies in the UK we have always attempted to keep in touch with our members and to promote the work of ICAEW Chartered Accountants in their local areas. In the past this has included a regular hard copy newsletter Northern Account which was recently renamed NorSCA News (which is what it was previously called for many years). We now feel the time is right for us to make an increasing use of digital delivery which allows us to publish our local north east & Cumbria news and information on the web quickly and easily.

NorSCA has always had strong links with our student societies (NCASS and CCASS) and with our younger members’ group (NEYCAG). At a time that ICAEW nationally is attempting to enhance the linkages between local District Societies and their younger member groups, NorSCA is again demonstrating innovation in this field.

The new website is now the single digital destination for information about the whole of NorSCA – including NCASS and NEYCAG

We have worked closely with the office-holders and committees of NCASS, CCASS and NEYCAG in both supporting their on-going work and in the development of this new website. norsca.co.uk now combines the previously separate NCASS and NEYCAG websites.

This means that the new website is now the single digital destination for information about the whole of NorSCA – allowing ACA students to keep in touch after they have qualified as ICAEW Chartered Accountants when they may then require different support, networking opportunities and technical information to help them as their careers progress.

norsca.co.uk will contain information about all the events and developments in our area including our 3 branches and our 3 younger member groups:

• Cumberland Society of Chartered Accountants
• Teesside Society of Chartered Accountants
• Tyne & Wear Society of Chartered Accountants
• NEYCAG – North East Young Chartered Accountants’ Group
• NCASS – Northern Chartered Accountant Students’ Society
• CCASS – Cumberland Chartered Accountant Students’ Society

NorSCA is also pleased to continue to actively support national ICAEW initiatives such as BASE, BAS and BusinessFutures.

We have been assisting businesses in the north of England and producing chartered accountants for over 130 years.
