TSCA Netwalking

Join TSCA for a 5 mile ‘walk whilst you talk’ in our first Netwalking event.

Netwalking - NorthernHopefully the late British Summer will be kind to us, as we enjoy the views from the Osmotherly/Swainby circular walk, whilst conserving enough energy to relax and network with fellow ICAEW members, and let’s not forget the option of a cold beverage after we finish the route.

Join TSCA members, friends and family for a social walk followed by some refreshments.

Walkers should wear/bring appropriate clothing (cool / warm / waterproof) it is British summertime so anything could happen.

We also intend, for those walkers who are interested, to have a drink together after the walk at the Black Horse, Swainby. If you would like to stay on for some food please book a table directly with the Black Horse itself on +44 (0) 1642 700 436 and indicate when you are booking that you are with the accountants walking group.

Registration is from 16:00 for the walk to start at 16:15.

Cost

The event is free to attend but pre-booking is requried to secure your place.

Bookings close 12 September 2017

NCASS and NEYCAG quiz night

NCASS/NEYCAG - Quiz nightLast week we held the NCASS NEYCAG quiz at the Central Pub in Gateshead, with representation from the NAO, Deloitte, EY and RSM to name a few.

After a few drinks in the bar we headed up to the top floor for the buffet where we had hired out a function room. The quiz started with introduction to two table quiz rounds of Geography and numbers to play throughout the evening- only one team managed to guess all 20 flags and the associated capital cities of each country – well done! We then went on to test general knowledge, food & drink, music and sport, together with several spot prize questions each winning a bottle of wine. For example, do you know how many nations competed at the Summer 2012 Olympics? Well we do now!

Congratulations to the winning team who scored 78 out of 90 and won Eldon Square vouchers. They were closely followed by a very respectable 72 out of 90 who won bottles of prosecco.

Thanks to everyone for coming and a big thank you to Nigel Wright for sponsoring- a great night had by all!

Inaugural NCASS Open Evening

NCASS were delighted to host their inaugural Open Evening at the Digital Lounge, Tyneside Cinema on 11th July.  This event was hosted by NCASS President Chris Soan and our new Chair, Katie Taylor, to showcase NCASS to regional firms including Deloitte, RSM Tenon, Haines Watts, Colin Hutson Accounting, NAO and Tait Walker.

NCASS are currently offering a full and varied event calendar with forthcoming events including a tour of the Riverside Stadium, Quiz and Casino nights and annual dinners in both Newcastle and Teesside.  The Open Evening allowed us to share our up-coming events with firms as well as asking for feedback on our current programme.

NCASS are always looking for new ways to support students in the region and our next event offers an alternative to the more traditional NCASS social and networking events in the form of an evening workshop on Mindfulness.

For details of our future events and information on how to book, please visit: http://www.norsca.co.uk/ncass/events/.

NCASS netball tournament success

NCASS netball tournament-2From fancy foot work to great goals, the NCASS netball tournament was a huge success!

With mixed gender teams and a wide range of abilities the tournament catered for all.

The final saw UNW and Offstone Publishing go head to head for the number 1 spot. After a close start Offstone Publishing soon found their stride and very deservingly took first place.

The event was in high demand with limited spaces of 8 teams. All teams played really well and the tournament was a fun, friendly way to socialise and network with other professionals from the Newcastle area.

NCASS will be sure to organise another sporting tournament so keep checking our events page to avoid missing out!
