The Northern Chartered Accountants’ Student Society invites you to join them for their annual Teesside dinner.

NCASS Annual Black Tie Dinner

The Northern Chartered Accountant Students’ Society invites you to join them for their annual black tie dinner on 24th March 2017.

This year’s dinner will be held at Wylam Brewery’s fabulous new home in Exhibition Park. Make sure you join us for a night of fine food, excellent drink and the chance to let your hair down after a hard week’s work. Arrival at 19:00 for a 19:30 start.

Cost

Tickets cost £40 per head and must be pre-booked. Included in the ticket price is a 3 course meal, half a bottle of wine per person and a disco – tickets are limited so book now to avoid disappointment! Menu details can be found here.

NCASS will be supporting local charity St Oswald’s Hospice on the evening.

Room Escape @ Exit Newcastle

Tired of the same old things? Get together with NCASS and prepare for a fun-filled, adrenaline fuelled hour.

What is it?

Join NCASS in attempting to Escape the Room at Exit Newcastle on 16th February.

Live escape games! You’ll be locked in a room, and the goal is to get out before the hour is up. You’ll have to complete different challenges and follow clues, guiding you to the EXIT.

The only way to escape is to complete different challenges and follow clues, guiding you through the game to the exit. There will be two rooms available- The Laboratory and the more challenging Attic which has a success rate of only 29%.

Attendees can meet us at The Bodega pub on Westgate Road at 18:00 for some drinks before the escape is on!

NCASS Autumn Golf Day

Dust off your clubs and rake your plus fours out from the back of the wardrobe. The NCASS Autumn Golf Day is here!

Mark Twain famously said ‘golf is a good walk spoiled’…..clearly he has never experienced an NCASS Golf Day! Fancy yourself as the next Tiger Woods? Or perhaps as more of a Happy Gilmore (‘tap, tap, tap it in’)? Then be sure to putt it straight in your calendar!

There’s no better place to meet and socialise than on the golf course, and NCASS are pleased to be able to invite you to attend the Autumn Golf Day on 1st October. There will be prizes on the day….after all, we all have a competitive streak in us!

For just £20 per person, we are able to offer a round of golf at Newcastle United Golf Club, followed by a two course meal.

So come along! It’s going to be great value, offer the chance to go home with a prize, and give you an ideal opportunity to socialise with other students in the region.

Middlesbrough FC Riverside Stadium Tour

NCASS are pleased to be offering you the chance to get a behind the scenes look of a local football club newly promoted to the Premier League.

You will enjoy a unique, behind the scenes look in the dressing-rooms, players’ tunnels, boardroom, hospitality suites and press room, with experienced guides on hand to illustrate the history and traditions of the club.

The tour will also include a special guest appearance from the CFO – Michael James.

Tickets are priced at £10 +VAT per person which includes a tour of the stadium, as well as catering and refreshments which will be provided at the event.

All members and their guests are welcome, book early to reserve your ticket as places are limited and will be offered on a first comes first served basis.

Introduction to Poker

Do you have no idea what the difference is between a Full House and a Royal Flush? Come along to our event at Aspers Casino at The Gate, Newcastle and learn all about the ins and outs of poker.

The event is an excellent opportunity to network with junior professionals in the North East and learn about the intricacies of poker.

CABA: Introduction to Mindfulness

Mindfulness is everywhere at the minute! Would you like to know more about the concept of Mindfulness and what it can do for you?

During this free session you will explore the concept of mindfulness and how using it can enable you to become more aware of your thoughts and feelings so that instead of being overwhelmed by them, you’re better able to manage them.
This session will benefit all those want to learn more about how to train yourself to manage everyday situations which can sometimes get you down.

This session will examine the foundations of mindfulness, the empirical evidence behind it and its many applications in everyday life. You’ll also have the opportunity to try out a number of mindfulness strategies and with regular practice you will be able to Improve your mental and physical health, manage stress (at home and work), Reduce anxiety and Increase emotional intelligence.

The session will also be a brilliant opportunity to meet and socialise with other trainee and recently qualified accountants in the area. The event is free to all ACA students and NEYCAG/NCASS members.
