Northern Chartered Accountant Students' Society

Supporting northern ACA students

NCASS night at The Dogs 18 May 2015

NCASS held a night at the Newcastle dogs on Thursday 30th April, a free event which included entry, a drink, pie and peas.

The event was extremely well attended by around 70 people, more than 50 hailing from the Business Accounting and Finance course at Newcastle University Business School, and with a mixture of dog-racing knowledge, hence the requirement for a lot of reliance on those ‘in the know’ by some.  Liam Ford, Treasurer of NCASS (and event organiser) said “Although I was unable to pick one winner over 11 races, I thoroughly enjoyed the night and everyone else appeared to be having great fun. I know there were others who were slightly luckier than I was!”

NCASS also sponsored a race, the “who said accounts are dull” trophy and the lucky winner was presented a trophy, as pictured,  and NCASS received a bottle of champagne to help the night go by.

About NCASS

NCASS (Northern Chartered Accountant Students’ Society) is the official body that represents ACA students under ICAEW training contracts in the Northern Society area in the North East of England and Cumbria. We have been supporting student chartered accountants across northern England since 1896.

The society is run by ACA student volunteers for ACA students and, space permitting, new committee members are always welcome.
