Northern Society of Chartered Accountants

At the heart of northern business since 1882

Spring Tax update with Bob Trunchion

Join Bob Trunchion for his regular half yearly Tax updates.

Northern Society of Chartered Accountants www.norsca.co.uk

This course has been specifically designed to meet the needs of general practitioners, concentrating on matters that really affect your clients – achieving these aims for 30 years. Attending every six months not only gives you targeted CPD but alerts you to what you need to know.

It is presented by an experienced speaker who has been training for the Northern Society of Chartered Accountants for all that time and understands the local environment.

Event Information

This course has proved to be the essential update for all practitioners and staff involved with clients affected by tax issues, as well as tax specialists for 30 years!

The course aims to keep your technical knowledge up to date to comply with the ever-changing regulatory environment. The course is intended not only to alert you to such technical changes, but to highlight practical points which can be used in practice.

By the time of the course, changes to supply chains and other matters due to Brexit will be settling down and, hopefully, the Covid-19 Pandemic and other winter bugs should be easing. We will have had a Budget in the Autumn of 2021. Whilst this is heralded as just a “technical” Budget, there is still plenty of scope to change capital taxes in the UK given all the technical proposals that have been made by the OTS!

Clearly, there should be another Budget come the Autumn of 2022.

Whether “major or a minor” Budgets, all the above factors will combine to give a considerable amount of content to cover!

Content

This course aims to provide delegates with a practical and intensive review of developments over the last six months as well as changes likely to occur in the near future.

This course aims to cover the following topics:

  • Tax announcements in 2021 Autumn Budgets
  • What was in the resultant Finance Act 2021 and will be in Finance Bill 2022?
  • Is there anything our clients should be doing now in the light of the increases already announced to CT and NIC
  • Where are we on MTD, its delayed introduction and how should we be preparing our firms and our clients
  • Where are we on the “level playing field” like the extension of IR35, the NMW/NLW etc?
  • Recent Tax cases and HMRC pronouncements
  • VAT and indirect tax developments including import and export solutions, ATED revaluations
  • Other regulatory announcement affecting the Tax Profession such as on AML, CCOs, PCRT and all the other regulatory matters where we have to keep up to date.
