After lunch Iain Logue’s talk will explore how the internet is developing and the impact that computer technology has on the world we live in. He will also explore internet crime, how it affects the global economy and give us valued tips on personal safety while online.

Iain Logue

Iain Logue holds the position of Principal of Education & Training with ‘iSafely Ltd ’a subsidiary of Newcastle University’s Centre for Cyber Crime and Computer Safety and a Director of Roxburgh Marine-Forensics Ltd who specialise in the global provision of Computer Forensic Investigations within the Marine Industry.

 

Iain, retired as a Senior Police Officer with Northumbria Police in 2008, during which time he was Head of Specialist Training and Operations for both Northumbria Police and The National Crime Squad for England and Wales.

Iain has a strong interest in the development of a co-ordinated approach between private and public sector bodies and academia to combat Cybercrime across the whole spectrum of Internet usage.

Iain is often asked, “How did the Centre for Cybercrime develop here in the North East?” Iain will tell you all about the “Golden Sword” and all will be revealed!!  You won’t believe it.
