What the small company accountant needs to know

Date: 26 March 2014 09:30 - 12:30

Type: Career and Personal Development

Organiser: Tyne and Wear

Big changes in company accounting requirements are imminent but even before they come into force, how confident are you with the current requirements?  Do you know what you need to know?

Small company directors don’t have the time or, often, the knowledge to deal with their business’ administration and reporting obligations so they rely on their accountants to help them comply as simply and cost-effectively as possible. This means accountants, whether in practice or working in the company, have to be ‘on the ball’ with company secretarial and financial reporting requirements to make sure they get things right.

This course will consider the key accounting and administration issues for small companies as they apply at the date of the course, as well as providing some pointers to what might change in future.

Who should attend? Accountants in business or in practice who work with small companies.

The course will cover:

  • Getting the accounts right for a small company – real life problem areas and how to deal with them including:
  • Getting the administration right – common problem areas for small companies including:
  • Current and forthcoming changes to small company accounts:
